Spring into action

Where do you find a place to park your car, if you’re sleeping in it overnight? Is it safe? Is there a toilet nearby? Will you be moved on?

On Monday 28 October some of our team joined with other regular overnight sleepers to sleep in our cars in the Happy Valley carpark. Sunshine Coast Regional Council gave us a permit to do this and, even more, Cr Terry Landsberg generously provided some of his discretionary funding to assist with the costs of dinner and breakfast.

We enjoyed sharing in this experience, and in particular, getting to know some of Caloundra’s residents who are experiencing homelessness. We had great fun playing a board game in the afternoon and then dancing to music after dinner.

The members of our team who participated received generous sponsorship from friends and family.

Spring into Action will be held again in spring 2025. So, come and join us!
